Presenza di strumenti a tastiera alla corte sabauda: prima ricognizione

Abstract

Il saggio espone i risultati di una ricerca negli inventari del mobilio delle residenze di casa Savoia, per individuare la presenza di strumenti a tastiera. Le notizie tratte dagli inventari settecenteschi sono scarse; invece sono più rilevanti i dati risultanti dalla ricerca per il xix secolo. Nelle residenze sabaude di Palazzo Reale, Palazzina di Stupinigi, Castello di Racconigi (Cuneo), Castello di Moncalieri è stata così documentata la presenza, nell'Ottocento, di numerosi pianoforti, e di alcuni si è potuta accertare la provenienza: piemontese (Alovisio), viennese (Knam, Janssen, Tomaschek), francese (Erard, Pleyel). Gli inventari forniscono inoltre, in alcuni casi, una descrizione degli strumenti menzionati. Infine, il saggio segnala tre strumenti tuttora esistenti, legati al castello di Racconigi: uno di essi, un pianoforte a tavolo di Knam, presenta molte analogie con alcuni strumenti citati negli inventari.

Keyboard instruments at the Savoy court: preliminary survey

The paper relates the results of research into the furniture inventories of the residences of the House of Savoy, undertaken to identify the keyboard instruments present. The information gathered from the eighteenth-century inventories was limited; however, the data collected from those of the nineteenth century were more significant. The presence of numerous pianos in the Savoy residences of Palazzo Reale, Palazzina di Stupinigi, Castello di Racconigi (Cuneo), Castello di Moncalieri in the nineteenth century was thus documented and it was also possible to establish the provenance of some of them: Piedmontese (Alovisio), Viennese (Knam, Janssen, Tomaschek), French (Erard, Pleyel). Furthermore, in some cases, the inventories gave a description of the instruments mentioned. In conclusion, the paper indicates three instruments which are still to be found at the castle of Racconigi, one of which, a square piano, is very similar to some of the instruments listed in the inventories.
