Publications
The publishing activities of the SIdM are divided into three areas: Music Editions, Text Series and Dictionaries. The first includes three series of critical editions (Concertos and Symphonies, Italian Musical Monuments and Editions of Mensural Music), each coordinated by its own international team of scholars of proven expertise, thus guaranteeing an impeccable scientific standard. The Text Series section, which also has scientific committees of high and recognised musicological rigour, includes four series of musicological essays: Manuali, Musica nel Novecento italiano, Repertori musicali and Strumenti della ricerca musicale, ranging from the highly informative manuals (a flagship of Italian music publishing) to the monographic studies of Repertori musicali. The third sector comprises two dictionaries dedicated to music publishing – covering the period from the origins to the mid-18th century and from 1750 to 1930 respectively – the result of extensive research involving leading Italian and foreign experts in the field. The Sidm also guarantees its patronage to certain series or individual publications whose scientific interest and rigour have been verified by the Committee for Corporate Publications.
The publishing activities of the SIdM are divided into three main areas: Music editions, with three series of critical editions edited by high-level international teams; Text series, with four essay series ranging from popular manuals to specialist studies, all coordinated by qualified scientific committees; and Dictionaries, two works dedicated to music publishing from the Middle Ages to 1930, the result of extensive research.
The SIdM also offers its patronage to publications that reflect its interests and scientific rigour.
