The Italian Society of Musicology (SIdM) is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 106 of 10 August 2018, which transposed Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. As an entity treated as a public administration under Law 4/2004 (as amended by Legislative Decree 106/2018), the SIdM publishes the following accessibility statement regarding the official website sidm.it.
Compliance status
Compliance status: this website is partially compliant with the accessibility requirements set out in Annex A of the UNI CEI EN 301549:2018 standard (corresponding to WCAG 2.1 Level AA) and in Annex A of the Ministerial Decree of 5 July 2005 (WCAG 2.0), due to the non-conformities listed below. Most web pages comply with the technical requirements of Chapter 9 ‘Web’ of the UNI EN 301549 standard, whilst some content (e.g. PDF documents) does not fully comply with the requirements of Chapter 10 ‘Non-web documents’. Consequently, there are some exceptions/issues that prevent full compliance, but these will be resolved progressively.
Note: the website was developed in accordance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and aims to meet all the required criteria. Where possible, some improvements have already been implemented in line with the new WCAG 2.2 (W3C Recommendation 5 October 2023) – fully backward compatible with WCAG 2.1 – to anticipate future regulatory requirements and ensure an even higher level of accessibility. For example, care has been taken to ensure that the keyboard focus is not obscured by page elements (the ‘Focus Not Obscured’ criterion introduced in WCAG 2.2) and to provide alternatives to drag-and-drop operations, thereby improving the experience for all users.
Content not accessible
The content listed below is currently inaccessible for the following reason: (a) failure to comply with the accessibility requirements set out in current legislation (Legislative Decree 106/2018). At present, there are no cases of disproportionate burden or exclusion from the scope of the law.
Feedback and contact details
A feedback mechanism has been set up to allow users to report any instances of inaccessibility and to request information or alternative content for inaccessible material. Reports or requests for assistance can be sent by email to: segreteria@sidm.it. Alternatively, you can contact the SIdM secretariat by telephone on +39 338 1957796 (Monday to Friday, 9.00 am–1.00 pm).
When contacting SIdM, please provide the following information to help us process your request:
First name and surname of the person reporting the issue;
URL of the web page or section of the site where the problem was encountered (or a description of the inaccessible content);
A clear description of the accessibility issue encountered;
Tools used (operating system, web browser and/or assistive technology – for example: Windows 10 + Firefox + NVDA screen reader)
Any further details regarding the issue (please avoid including sensitive personal information or details relating to your disability).
Reports received will be recorded by SIdM staff and will be processed within 30 days of receipt, with a response sent to the sender detailing the outcome of the assessment and, where possible, the requested alternative content. Should the request require a longer resolution time (for example, due to the technical complexity of the issue), the user will be kept informed of progress.
Implementation procedure (Digital Ombudsman)
If the response provided via the feedback mechanism is unsatisfactory or is not received within 30 days, the user is entitled to initiate the enforcement procedure provided for in Article 3-quater of Law 4/2004. In such cases, a complaint may be submitted to the Digital Ombudsman. The report can be submitted via the online form available on the AGID website or by sending an email to the Digital Ombudsman at the dedicated certified email address (
protocollo@pec.agid.gov.it). The Digital Ombudsman, a role established within AGID, will be able to verify the validity of the report and, where appropriate, take action in accordance with the aforementioned Article 3-quater.
Drafting of the accessibility statement
This statement was drawn up on 21 October 2025. The information contained herein is the result of an accessibility assessment carried out as an internal self-assessment by SIdM. Specifically, the website was analysed by our team in accordance with the Self-Assessment Model provided by AGID (Annex 2 of the Guidelines) and through the combined use of automated tools and manual testing. Automated verification tools such as WAVE, Axe and Lighthouse (DevTools) were used to identify HTML/CSS errors, colour contrast issues, missing alternative text, heading structure, etc. At the same time, manual tests were conducted using assistive technologies, including keyboard navigation and the NVDA screen reader, to verify the actual usability of the site’s content and key functionalities.
This statement was last reviewed and updated on 31 October 2025. We plan to review the statement at least annually – and in any case whenever significant changes are made to the website – to ensure it remains up to date. SIdM remains committed to continuously improving accessibility and will update this statement as further improvements are implemented.
