Conference
Cremona, 15–17 June 2026 (Deadline: 15 February 2026)
The Call for Papers has been announced for the conference “Beyond the Existing: Musicology, Lost Works, and Fragmentary Evidence,” to be held in Cremona, at Palazzo Raimondi (Department of Musicology and Cultural Heritage, University of Pavia), from 15 to 17 June 2026.
The conference aims to explore, from philological, historiographical, theoretical, and methodological perspectives, the theme of the “lost” in musical traditions: disappeared works, fragments, dispersed materials, indirect testimonies, and all forms of absence that shape our knowledge of musical production and its processes of transmission. The conference is promoted and organized by the PhD candidates in Musicology at the University of Pavia (Cremona campus) and is open to the participation of all scholars and other interested individuals.
Interested participants are invited to submit a paper proposal (max. 300 words), together with a short biographical note (max. 100 words) and any technical requirements, by 15 February 2026 to: convdottorale.musicologia.unipv@gmail.com
All details are provided in the attached Call for Papers (Italian/English).
